KLINGE
Website for a barbershop in Cologne-Ehrenfeld. Designed like the shop at night, with booking in twenty seconds.

- Barbershop
- Location
- Cologne-Ehrenfeld
- Scope
- Homepage with five sections
- Highlight
- Appointments with live status
The task
A barbershop lives on regulars and on people who drop in on the spur of the moment. The site has to do both: show whether it’s open right now and how long the wait is, and make booking an appointment a matter of a few clicks.
KLINGE doesn’t exist. The concept shows how we would build the website for a barbershop that wants to stand out without the booking suffering for it.
The idea
The shop after closing time: light on chrome, red from the neon sign, hard shadows. Type plays the lead role, with narrow, tall capitals for headings and a typewriter font for prices and times.
Red appears exactly once, but in the right place. Set in Big Shoulders Display, Archivo and Space Mono.
Through the site

What’s inside
- Live status. Open or closed, until when, and how long the current wait is.
- Price board. Eight services with price and duration, the image changes on hover.
- Appointment booking. Service, barber, day and time in a single flow.
- Crew. Three barbers, each with their own style, to swipe through sideways.
- Directions. Address in large type, train and parking at a glance.
- Thumb-friendly. Call and booking are always within reach on the phone.
- Fast loading. No site builder and no scripts from third-party servers, quick even on mobile data.
- Accessible. Easy to read, works with a keyboard, calm with reduced motion.
On the phone
Anyone who wants an appointment usually has their phone in hand. That’s where booking takes just a few taps.
